Theresa J. Gathers, Founder
After serving in the military for close to two decades, it was time to break free and take control of my life and potential. I am a warrior at heart and depend on my wisdom and intuition to fulfill my life’s work and purpose.
Mission
To epitomize high quality coaching through facilitating a supportive environment for exploration and by providing applicable tools and modern concepts to aid my clients on their journey, empowering them to break through the chains holding them back from living a fully enriched life.
Vision
I want clients to connect with my services and to provide a safe space where people can grow their abilities and take control of their lives. I want to facilitate a genuine connection with clients in order to aid them in fulfilling their own manifestations of self discovery/awareness and set a lifestyle change with goal-setting techniques.

Athena is the Goddess of Wisdom and War. She is known for her strategic skill in warfare and is the patron Goddess of Heroic Endeavor. She represents the intellectual and civilized side of war, embodying the virtues of justice and skill. Athena is often portrayed as a companion of heroes, and was known for fighting alongside those she protected. Just like Athena, my life's passion was always to protect and lead people. Throughout my military career, I fought for values like justice, truth, morality, and have put it all on the line to protect these beliefs and those that I served. Overtime, Athena became known as the goddess of skilled peacetime pursuits, personifying wisdom and righteousness. Like Athena, as I evolved, my life's passion began to shift - I have moved from wanting to protect others to wanting to honor and empower them as they work to find their own inner truth and healing. I have broken through my chains throughout the years and am here to assist others in their journey.
I retired from the military after serving as both an Officer and Enlisted member, and have close to two decades of leadership experience leading both small and large groups up to 400 personnel. I have held positions requiring me to make life altering decisions while serving in combat roles, nuclear security, laws enforcement duties, and was a Commander (Chief of Police equivalent) as the last position I held in the military. I have changed Department of Defense policies, Air Force level policy & procedures for sexual assault, human trafficking and gang activity. I have affected Air Force policy changes surrounding mental health treatment and modernization.
I was awarded my Professional Coach Certification through the International Coaching Federation, and have specialized training in Leadership, Relationship, and Health and Wellness coaching that I draw from when working with clients. I am a High Flow Coach through the Flow Research Collective and I have accomplished over 3,000 hours of leadership training. My personal education consists of an Associates degree and Bachelors degree in Criminal Justice and my Masters degree in Acquisitions & Contract Management.

I founded Athena UNCHAINED Coaching and Consulting LLC in 2022 and am currently working to expand my business to include a new focus on self-growth and rediscovery. I am working on my second book and am actively working to expand the gap between civilian mental health providers and military veterans through speaking engagements and workshops.

My hobbies include spending time outside, reading true crime and personal growth books, rowing, hiking, traveling, and spending time with the ones I love. I am currently living in Colorado with my partner and our son, Capone Alexander Graham Bell , and am leaning into the joy and gratitude that comes from embracing impermanence.
